چکیده

This study was carried out to investigate builds up a rule map on various radiological factors in and around the Euphrates River Iraq. Radon levels, radium content surface mass radon exhalation rates for 20 sediment tests gathered from different districts along River, Iraq, (about 500km long) using can technique, with CR-39 plastic detector. fixation esteems were viewed as going 835.0 2797.7 Bq.m-3 normal worth of 1703.5 Bq.m-3. The 12.5 Bg.kg-1 while most minimal elevated determined upsides (CRa) 6.1 20.5 Bq.kg-1, respectively. (surface ES Em) samples found vary (0.41 1.37) Bq.m-2.h-1 (0.09 0.31) Bq.kg-1.h-1with average values 0.83 0.19 Bq.kg-1.h-1, CRa all lower than recommended value 30 Bq.kg-1 given by UNSCEAR. Hence, results show that area is safe far health hazard effects are concerned, surveyed sites allowable limit.

Exposure assessment of heavy metals pollution enriched in core sediment samples of river Nile, Aswan, Egypt

The river Nile is a dominating physical feature of the northeastern part of the African continent, covering areas exhibiting varieties and contrasts in topography, climate vegetation and people. So, in this study, we estimated the contamination of the Nile sediment with some major and trace heavy metals in core samples which can cause some undesirable health effects. Concentrations of all eleme...

Radioactivity Concentration in Sediment and Water Samples of Hot Springs of Mahallat and Soil Samples of Their Neighboring Environs

The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K and 137Cs in water and sediment samples from hot springs of Mahallat and  soil samples from their neighboring environs  have been determined using two high resolution high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors with relative efficiencies 38.5% and 55%. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 23...

Alpha radioactivity in Indian cement samples

ABSTRACT  Background: The essential constituents of cements like lime, silica and alumina are derived from earth’s crust in which radioactive elements like uranium, thorium etc are also present in varying amounts almost everywhere. These two elements are considered as the parent elements of uranium and thorium radioactive decay series in which radon and thoron are produced respectively as decay...
